History of Meditation

Tibetan Buddhist meditation has a long history. Buddhism is a branch of Hinduism in Hinduism practiced meditation and so, before it was practiced in Buddhism. Buddhist thought is that there are three things you must do before enlightenment. Virtue, wisdom and meditation. Meditation is practiced in many Eastern religions and even in Western religions. But I will focus this article on the practices of Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism meditation.

Hinduism is the oldest living religion, meditation practices. In Hinduism, the meditation is to find from the human desire for Brahman (God), the true nature have developed. Hindu practitioners would sit and think about who God really was, and she began sitting for hours, have moments of clarity. These moments of clarity is what many doctors are still trying to achieve through meditation.

The difference in meditation in Buddhism and Hinduism is that Buddhists do not believe that meditation is a means by which God approach, but it is rather a means for practitioners to communicate with each approach to the Earth. It is said that Buddha (Siddhartha) found enlightenment while meditating under a Bodhi tree.

Meditation in yoga

In yoga, meditation, pranayama or breathing exercises to be practiced. The original philosophy of yoga, that it was important to meditate after practicing asanas or physical aspect of yoga, because the body is ready to relax and loose enough that would sit on the floor had to be comfortable with. First breath is a good practice because slow breathing slows the heart rate and calms the mind so that moving the body is able, to a quiet place.

Meditation in Tibetan Buddhism

Tibetan Buddhism was formed by the principles of yoga and Buddhism, which arrived in Tibet, in India in the early eighth century. Meditation in Tibetan Buddhism focuses on the tantric principles, and another name for Tibetan Buddhism is Buddhism Tantrayana. One goal of Tantra is to contribute to the basic human needs such as greed and envy as something good, like love and compassion. (Should be the things that reflect the activities and meditative), there are many steps in Tantric Buddhism, including Lamrim, the preparatory exercises, meditation, Dzogchen (at an advanced stage is the final step on the path of a Buddhist practitioner Tantrayana).

Ways to Meditate

In Tibetan Buddhism many forms of meditation can be done to clear some things to your mind and help to rethink the way open to enlightenment. Some topics are meditating on love for others, you see yourself and your fellow human beings as equal, and the development of compassion.

In Hinduism and Yoga, meditation is the path and goal. There are may take many different forms of yoga meditation. In yoga, it often starts with pranayama or breathing exercises. There are also forms of meditation, if you think a mantra or a prayer. There are many ways to meditate by kirtan singing. There is also a meditation on the noise that can occur with music or a kirtan session. And in Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism is meditation on an object, like a Buddha statue or thangka Buddhist.
